Subject: [Bug 305210] New: Refactor JSF plugins for easier adoption
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=305210
Product/Component: Java Server Faces / JSF Tools
Summary: Refactor JSF plugins for easier adoption
Classification: WebTools
Product: Java Server Faces
Version: 3.2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: JSF Tools
AssignedTo: jsf-inbox@xxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: cameron.bateman@xxxxxxxxxx
This bug is announce and open discussion on the refactoring of JSF Tools
plugins and features so that they are easier to selectively uptake. The end
goals of the work are:
1) Existing adopters who are happy with the way things are will not be impacted
except they may have to direct users and update sites to a different feature
download as the base for their products post-Helios.
2) The JSF Tools will be split into two main parts: framework and exemplary
implementations. Adopters will be able to ship only the framework part with
their own implementation of user visible UI and extension points.
The work is described in more detail here:
