[udig-devel] [jira] (UDIG-1992) Vista shortcuts are for administrators only

Issue Type: Improvement Improvement
Affects Versions: UDIG 1.4.0, UDIG 1.3.2
Assignee: Unassigned
Components: application
Created: 08/May/13 2:35 AM
Description:

In Vista (but e.g. not in Windows 7) the installing user must always elevate to adminstrator privilegies. Thus, the shortcuts always land on the Start Menu of the Administrator account. This creates an awkward user experience as we cannot benefit from the Start Menu items. Is there a way of having the shortcuts installed in the Start Menu of the installing user and not of the administrator?

Environment: Windows Vista
Project: uDIG
Priority: Minor Minor
