Re: [udig-devel] jai magic
|
Sorry for the interruption on this .. was busy of the last weeks.
Let me summarize the current state:
* initial jai this where already implemented like you can see in the
pull request
* native support for the supported OS by jai/image IO (linux 64bit &
32bit, win 32bit)
* documentation in wiki is still an open task
* release build is not tested yet, some subtasks right here:
* RCP build with tycho
* build procedure with build shell/command scripts (win, mac/linux)
managed by Jody are untested with the new bundles
* we can handle gdal with native support in the same way, I already
started doing on this as well
* exported product (Do you still create a release from IDE (PDE
Export))? -> switch to tycho eclipse_application / eclipse_repository
(late creates a p2 repository for easy update handling)
I would recommend to create a branch for this work, where we can
collaborate. I've the feeling, that this is a major change for the
developing and releasing process we should not mixup withe the current
master. And I definitely need help on the release front from you
guys!!
What do you think about a new branch (JAI_GDAL_NATIVE) to work on
together? Everybody is invited to checkout the status at my jai2
branch (https://github.com/fgdrf/udig-platform/branches/jai2) BUT
note, its far behind master (I'll merge into branch as soon as
possible).
