Cannot wait to see the rest ;-). Great work Andrea,

I created a plugin with the first tools and pushed them also on
udig-platform now.

Jody, so that you know how to access them all (and also to help the
release notes), I wrote a post in order to see how the features should
work:

Comment, feedback and bug reports are welcome.

Hi Jody,

I would be happy to review and apply the work to udig platform; thank you for your contribution. I am starting to gear up a team of
developers and was talking about using code reviews as a good way to get the teams head back in to udig development.

So how would you like to do things (at a technical level with git?):
- as series of merge requests?
- stage the work in your "clone" (possibly in a branch?)
- would you like to push; and then we can review the result?

Since I am packing those things in a single eu.udig.tools.jgrass
plugin, I am for pushing them on the main udig branch. Currently I am
developing and testing them on my clone. As soon as they are done I
would merge them on the udig-platfrm.
Since they are mostly contained in a plugin and can do no harm
outside, I think that is the fastest and best procedure.

A few other ideas in looking at your list.
- the "Info" tool is actually "extensible" in that it shows content from a FeatureSource or WMS; did you
teach it how to query a grid coverage or make a new tool?

As usual you come with a great information. I actually didn't know the
info tool is extensible and I love the idea, since for multi-time
coverages (like netcdf) it should show charts. But first things first,
which is simple coverages. Where do I best start to extend the info
tool? Perhaps the wms info.

- my brain is going to hurt a bit thinking through the navigation view; I am looking forward to it :-)

:) Cool, I will remove the geonames part from that and them merge it in.

I will report back here,
Ciao
Andrea

Aside: the refractions website is back for me now

Hi PSC,
I have a set of features from JGrass that I would love to see in uDig
and also think they would make sense in a general purpose GIS.

Since I am not able to add the feature requests to the WIKI right now
(refractions domains seems to be in trouble again), I list them here
(if available with a screenshot as it is now in JGrass):

- csv to shapefile import tool [1]
- profile tool [2]
- an export wizard for coverages, with the possibility to export
either in geotiff or in ESRI ascii
- a coverage query tool [3]
- navigation view [4]
- netcdf format support [4]

Comments are welcome,
Andrea
