| I thought there was a short cut for that; or it could be a case of creating several features and using the merge tool. The merge tool has migrated over to be part of the axios tool set.
I have some paid work coming up to look at simplification of the polygon editing workflow; and I have been trying to balance out these two alternatives. I will probably end up with a separate addPolygon and createPolygon tool. Or could they be the same tool with a keyboard short cut (and thus harder to discover accidentally).

In the Udig's create new layer wizard, we have options for creating multipolygon, multiline and multipoint layers, but we can only create polygon, line and point features respectively on those layers, i.e. features with a single geometry only.
