Hi Jody,
To answer your first questions, no I don't know of anybody who is
actively, regularly using the tiled renderer.
I also don't have any plans at the moment to work on it, however if
there are some specific bug reports I may be able to find some time to
look at them.
Unfortunately I don't have a Mac available to me at this time so I
cannot test out your mac related bug.
