The information tool when used over a slow connection is rather sluggish/unresponsive/blocking.
This is in nearly all cases only a very short delay of < 15 seconds; but the monitor does not appear until only a short time before the UI unblocks.
May be worth checking to ensure this and the search tool are threadsafe.
However, the monitor should be made visible BEFORE any information gathering begins to ensure the user can see that "something" is happening.
