Went through the linux post process steps ... using the same JRE folders as M8; result uploading now:

Responds well to testing; so far only a couple of oddities...

- firefox DnD broken on linux as well (we will need to look into this one)

- unbunto prompts me about how I want to run udig.sh (is that normal)?

- sigma open plans WMS-C service is no longer happy; the tile cache one is working fine however
