[udig-devel] [jira] Created: (UDIG-1593) tolerance to incomplete sdo-meta-data
|
tolerance to incomplete sdo-meta-data
-------------------------------------
Key: UDIG-1593
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/UDIG-1593
Project: uDIG
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: application
Affects Versions: UDIG 1.1.1
Environment: Windows XP German against Oracle Spatial
Reporter: T. Fischer
Attachments: uDigLayerProperties.gif
Using incomplete spatial metadata, which I am not allowed to change, all Layers from Oracle stay invisible.
With the empty column USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA.SRID the column USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA.DIMINFO seems to be ignored.
Column USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA.DIMINFO
Problem: The layer cannot be shown at all, see attached screenshot with "(0.0,0.0)(-1.0,-1.0)".
Solution: Set the border (Grenzen) as bounding box (max-min x, max-min-y) and/or manually.
Column USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA.SRID
Problem: If the data is missing, the default coordinate type is not much help.
Workaround: Request for an auto-detection heuristic for often used map-coordinate-types, e.g.:
1) Numbers of the size -180 to 180, -90 to 90: WGS 84 (EPSG:4326)
2) German settings combined with big numbers not starting with 32: WGS 84 / UTM zone 32N (EPSG:32632)
