Re: [udig-devel] TIFF and Blue Marble problems

For bluemarble. Do you have a world file associated with it? If not it cannot be imported.
For tiff I have not had this problem. Maybe try rebuilding the overviews with GDAL.

Hi all,
I'm working on a new project based on uDig, and we decided to start
working with the new 1.2 version.
I post two problems I have encountered (on uDig 1.2M4, M5 and the new
M6) :
Some TIFF files doesn't show properly if the scale is not enough. In my
example, if the scale is set to "1:20000" and below, I can see (a part)
of the image. If the scale is set to "1:21000" and above, I have a
white square instead. Have you ever encountered the same problem ? I do
not thing it's a memory problem, because on a larger screen with the
same computer, I can see almost the full image... and I still have the
same problem at the same scale.
The second problem is that I can't load the Nasa's Blue Marble images.
Nothing appends in the "Add Data" wizard. The pictures I use were
downloaded from :
http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/view_detail.php?id=7106
I have tried to load "world.topo.bathy.200407.3x5400x2700.jpg" (2,1 Mb)
and "world.topo.bathy.200407.3x21600x10800.jpg" (25 Mb) without
success. I can open this pictures with the Ms Windows Previewer.
Last question : is it possible to edit the ComboBox value list for the scale level ?
Thanks in advance for your answer,
Best regards,
Vincent
