[udig-devel] [jira] Created: (UDIG-1483) ERROR 4: cities.shp not recognised as a supported file format.

ERROR 4: cities.shp not recognised as a supported file format.
--------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: UDIG-1483
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/UDIG-1483
             Project: uDIG
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: file format
    Affects Versions: UDIG 1.2.M3
            Reporter: Jody Garnett
             Fix For: UDIG 1.2.M3

Okay this one is only here to annoy developers - when you open up a shapefile (or almost anything) you get a bunch of text output to the log of the form:
{panel}
ERROR 4: `C:\Users\Jody\Desktop\data\cities.shp' not recognised as a supported file format.
{panel}

This is really annoying - who is doing it? I suspect some geotools code (or worse yet some image format code - but I am not sure).

The way to proceed on this bug is to step through the implementations of ServiceExtension and see which on is producing the error.
