Hi Sophia,
Thanks for the tip.
I did that again and took care about the case sensitive thing but it didn´t work. :(

Hi,
I´m trying to connect oracle spatial 11g using UDIG 1.1.0 for windows but
appears the message above:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
I´m using ojdbc5.jar but it doesn´t work.
I had similar problem with UDIG RC14, but RC13 works very well.
Congratulations for new UDIG release 1.1.0.
Thanks for the attention,
Alexandre de Amorim

Hi-
A project that I am involved in is looking at moving to embedding an
Apache Derby database in with our application. I don't understand
Derby or JDBC that well, but I am sure that what we have is not
spatially enabled. Does uDig support connections to regular
databases of this type, or do you think it would be better to have a
separate Geoserver running for the GIS portion of our app?
Thanks-
S Sandoval

11g is case sensitive, check your SID and make sure its the correct case.
