AW: [udig-devel] Problems with tif

I've sample data from the QGIS website. The TIFF there isn't loadable in uDig too:

I just ran into a similar problem for a geoserver user. Turns out
GeoTIFF support is still a bit lacking :-)
The user ended up making a tfl file (making this a world + image file).
Perhaps since you are handy with gdal you can make a shell script to
generate world files for your images?
