After completing the tutorial everyone was pleased to see there changes on screen, however when a commit was attempted:
a) the change did not go through
b) renderers against countries.shp were left working for ever
We did have two editors open - the custom one and the default one (incase that has any bearing on the problem).
We setup geoserver with the same countries.shp and were pleased to see our editor being used (they have the same schema after all), our commit was not successful we were unable to figure out why.
Note Editing of Geograph was also harmed, will rerun the editing test against geoserver to see if editing is completely busted (or just broken by use of the tutorial).
