Hello everyone,

 

our first (appointment) Open Refinement for PI12 on 19.12.2023 is hereby canceled. Time around Christmas is difficult to plan. Even with the date in the new year it will not be easier, but together we can do it.

 

So our Open Refinement will take place on 10.01.2024, as already announced:

• tractusx mailing list or RSS (btw more and more joining the mailing list. Last week we had 180 subscribers, now its 203 -> thx)
• dedicated emails
• news blog
• members area

 

For some, this date is also tight (I know, Christmas and new year time), but the features must be created by 08.01.2024 at the latest. If you have problems with the creation, please contact me... I support where I can.

As already shared… the important links for the refinement:

What is needed for the open refinement:

• your feature (requests)
• create your features via templates
• Add your labels
• Prep-PI12 (must have for this planning)
• Product specific label -> of course more than one is allowed
• foss or kit
• Add a meaningful title
• You are the requester, so please add a description, which explains the feature for others
• Of course in the refinement, after discussions and explanations… the description can be adapted/extended
• Please don’t add a milestone … this is done in the planning
• Add additional information, a tasklist
• The tasklist can be transformed to product specific issues, defined in the product specific repository
• Also this list can be extended during the refinement
• Status => Inbox
• Of course you are free to already talk to the features stakeholder before the refinement

 

During open refinement

• All the listed/filterd features are discussed
• Requester (Cause only he/she knows what the goal of the feature is) or a debuty should present the feature
• Participants can ask questions and the description should be adapted if needed
• Tasklist should be extended if possible
• If the feature is ready refined (no open questions and the purpose is clear) status should be pushed to Backlog -> Ready for planning
• Active part for everybody
• Ask question
• Discuss
• It is not only a “presenting feature” session
• Presentation follows a agenda which was not published yet, but
• As learned from last refinement, we will not do a parallel refinement
• and also not a product specific refinement
• It should be more a topic related refinement (this depends on the features)

 

Hopefully this was enough information … and to be honest, we are not able to change or improve something if you don’t provide feedback.

Please be patient, some things cannot be changed in one day

As with the last PI, you can already start creating features in the SIG-Release board. Please visit SIG-Release Board on GitHub to contribute. The only change this time is the label, which should now be "Prep-PI12".
