New and Noteworthy:
See below for the New & Noteworthy and the ongoing work of the
Trace Compass project October 2015.
New and Noteworthy:
- Support for refreshing of traces that are stored in the local
file system and are updated externally (Trace Compass
1.2/Mars.2, see [1])
- Added a Latency Analysis Scatter Graph that visualizes
system call latencies in the Linux Kernel over time
(for Trace Compass 2.0/Neon, see [2]).
- Support of user bookmarks in time graph views (see [2])
- Display Soft IRQ names in Resources View (see [2])
- Trace Compass transitioned to Java 8 for Neon development
Ongoing work:
- System Call Latency Analysis - Distribution Chart, Statistics
- Other Types of Latency Analysis
- Support for periodic markers in time graphs
- Start integrating data-driven pattern detection (enhanced
filtering)
- Debug-info analysis, i.e. being able to map UST trace events
to source code locations using debug symbols
- Integration with Babeltrace Python analyses to be able to
output the results of these external analyses into Trace Compass
- Automatic refresh of traces
