Re: [tools-pmc] Merging TM.terminal and Eclipse CDT

Currently terminal depends on CDT, in fact at the repo level there is a circular dependency. There are also dependencies on egit and platform debug.

To move it to platform involves moving some of CDT's native parts to platform too and I don't know what would be involved in detangling egit dependency

I hope that helps answer your question?

Why not move terminal to Eclipse Platform? I is very useful also outside CDT, e.g. our Dart tooling.

Hello fellow tools-pmc members,

An old discussion about merging tm's terminal and CDT has reemerged with discussions on tm-dev and cdt-dev.

Alex and I have already +1'ed this effort on those mailing list, but I want to make sure the whole PMC is aware of what is happening and give you all a chance to chime in in case you feel we have missed something.

+1 from me implied

Jonah
