Re: [tigerstripe-dev] Tigerstripe installation issues

Title: Re: [tigerstripe-dev] Tigerstripe installation issues
Ok. So, another explanation could be that if a Tigerstripe dependency is not starting properly.
How did you install tigerstripe? Could you try getting the “all-inclusive” bundle including the Tigerstripe plugin themselves and the dependencies that we tested against:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/tigerstripe/bundle-tigerstripe-workbench-0.4.4_incubation.zip

And unzipping it on top of an Eclipse install?

This will rule out missing/incompatible dependency.

Eric

Hi Eric,

Well, I guess you right regarding the problem which is in the install.
I use linux machine so I don't think it is related to pathname length.
Any other ideas that could cause this?

Thanks,
Eli

Hmmm... This means the issue you’re facing is a lot more serious: Tigerstripe is not installed properly!
Not sure what could have gone wrong.

Are you running on Windows? If so, we’ve seeing problems with the OS limitation of the paths (250+ characters). Because of that, if you install Tigerstripe too deep in a directory (C:/<deep-path>.../eclipse/tigerstripe) you may encounter what you’re describing. During the install (unjar) some of the paths failed silently, leading to unresolved java classes. You might want to try re-install “closer” to C:/

Note that this is due to the fact that we need to unjar one of our plugins due to some legacy code that we’re cleaning up... So this limitation should be removed in the future...

Hi Eli,

We have heard of this before, in fact just ran into it at the end of last week, so I will have a closer look.
In the meantime, you may want to try:
  • in the Tigerstripe Explorer, on the faulty project: right-click->Clean Audit now.
  • Have you deployed the correct profile for this project? The phantom.zip is the result of deploying a profile. So, you may want to try to redeploy that profile.

Let me know if this helps,
  Eric

Hi,

I've never experienced this one but have heard about it before.

Eric, Richard how do you resolve the phantom zip issue?

  Thanks
Duncan

  Hi Duncan,

I installed the new tigerstripe on top of eclipse 3.4.1 and it seems that there are some problems that I can't resolve.

  I got the following error:
Project 'chameleon-model' is missing required library: '/home/elhadad/Development/eclipse/tigerstripe/phantom/lib/phantom.zip'

I can't find this file, also asked Yoram and said that you may know this.

  Thanks in advance,
  Eli
