I'm the one who brought this up.
I recently subscribed to this list because my PMC said it would be good
to do so... However, this list is quite chatty, and there's not much
here that is of any value to my duties as a project lead.
At this point, this list's email is distracting enough where I'm
considering either unsubscribing or creating a mail filter to
effectively hide all this.
Do we have any other options?

I abstain :)
I personally think we have enough mailing lists as it is and we're
doing a good job of being transparent on the list so project leaders
have an idea what the Technology PMC is doing. Also, any Technology
project-related communication that we do should be also cc'd on the
project's mailing list.

The
technology-pmc mailing list is turning into a fairly high-volume list
as the PMC uses it for all communication amongst its members. Most of
that communication is not of general interest and is potentially
causing undue stress on the project leaders who have been compelled to
join the list so that they may be privy to communication from the PMC
to the projects.
I'd like to propose that we split the list.
The technology-pmc list will remain as it is. It will be primarily for
communication between PMC members and for others to pose questions
directly to the PMC. Anybody can subscribe.
The technology-projects list will be for communication between the PMC
and the various technology projects. We would require that each project
lead subscribe to this list.
Thoughts?
