Re: [sumo-user] Unexpected delay results

Hi Chritra,

how does your network look like (especially around the E3 detectors) and what numbers are we talking about (40% of which vehicle volume)? As I don't know your scenario I see these options:

  • the vehicle volume is very low even at 80% of the reference volume or...
  • the volume is very high such that not much more than 40% of the reference vehicle volume can be inserted in the network( due to the number of insertion lanes and the configured follower distance / car-following model settings)
  • all cars use the same car-following model settings (=keep the same distance) and have the right-of-way along the E3 detector lanes (no need to brake)

Did you actually watch the vehicles in sumo-gui?

Best regards

Mirko

Hello,

While analysing the MeanTimeLoss values from E3 detectors in SUMO for different traffic conditions (varying volume), I have obtained results where even though the input volume is increasing from 40% to 80%, the average vehicular delay is not varying significantly as that of volume. The average delay is concentrated over a very short range ( 43 s/veh to 45 s/veh).

Is there any possible reason for this unexpected results from SUMO?

Thanking you in advance.
