You can define flows on fixed routes with attribute 'probability': https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/Definition_of_Vehicles%2C_Vehicle_Types%2C_and_Routes.html#repeated_vehicles_flows

I am fairly new to SUMO. I am trying to generate random times or frequencies between trips, but I want the trips to go through the same fixed route instead of taking random roads taken when I use the randomTrips.py file to generate.

I was only able to define a fixed period between the trips, but I want that to be random.
