Re: [sumo-user] Is route generated with randomtrip.py the shortest route?
|
Thank you Jakob. When you say fastest routes according to travel speed, does it mean the route that takes the least time?
When randomTrips option -r is used, the generated routes will be the fastest routes according to travel speeds in an empty network.
Hi Anil,
randomtrip.py generates a set of random "trips", meaning only origin and destination edges, not route. See https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/Tools/Trip.html#randomtripspy
When you use trips as input in SUMO, "the simulation performs fastest-path routing based on the traffic conditions found in the network at the time of departure/flow begin". See https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/Definition_of_Vehicles,_Vehicle_Types,_and_Routes.html#incomplete_routes_trips_and_flows

Giuliana

Hi,
Is the route generated from randomtrip.py in a network a shortest route?
Thanks,
Anil
