This is expected behavior. The output period can only be configured via the global options at the moment.

when I set the parameter key "device.fcd.period" value="5" in vType I still get the fcd output every timestep. It only works if I pass "--device.fcd.period 5" to the command line. Is this some sort of unexpected behavior or am I understanding it wrong?
