The logic for letting trains pass each other safely on a single track is triggered by the rail signals that guard the single-track. If you place a signal before the switch to the passing loop and another switch before the loop enters the main line, then it should work.

I was wondering if there was any way to alter the logic of vehicles to make them more likely to take a divergence in their path. I have simulation where I have trains travelling towards each other with an option of diverting, but the trains don’t seem to want to divert.
