Hello,

SUMO already allows vehicles to stop anywhere to pick up or release passengers. There is no need to modify the c++ source code for that.

However, the logic for when they should do so (some sort of dispatch / allocation algorithm) must be implemented via TraCI.

Similar projects have been described at this years sumo user conference (see attachment).

Greetings!

I am currently using SUMO's source code and was wondering if it is possible to make pedestrians into something similar to mobile bus stop to simulate a pedestrian boarding and departing a bus wherever they please as long if the vehicle is closest to the pedestrian's edge . If it is possible, may I know what are the classes and methods needed to be changed?
