Notes from the STEM Call on June 21, 2018 Next Call is scheduled for Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 9 am Pacific 1. Update on STEM Version 4.0 Milestone 1 *Ahmad: Has developed Branch; working to solve two remaining problems; gets a lot of warnings, e.g., library is conflict; also icons not showing in explorer, but are in bar up top *Jamie: Congrats to Ahmad; branch is essentially running TO DO: Ahmad to send Jamie place where icons are defined; Jamie to help resolve TO DO: Ahmad to post instructions on testing on stem-dev 2. STEM/Eclipse Issues TO DO: Jamie to enlist Stefan or Matt Davis to help move once Build 4 has been tested *Modification of Eclipse logos for STEM: Have not received response to request for formal EMO approval (per bug 534480) TO DO: Jamie to prepare a slide deck proposal that includes the logos to submit to Eclipse when build is complete; will consult with Ahmad in process STEM will then graduate from Milestone status to a Release *By group affirmation: Creation of two awards as incentive across the greater STEM community: STEM committer of the year and STEM contributor of the year TO DO: Develop a pmg image (“badge”) and a few sentences for certificates and also What’s New on the STEM website and wiki; call participants, others to send proposals to stem-dev *Emily: Has determined asking R to do a global change might cause problems and thus will not pursue; having some strange results with disease initialize when using stochastic solver, gets different values TO DO: Emily to send Jamie a small test model for diagnosis *Taras: Having difficulty running batch experiment in SIR modeling project TO DO: Taras to send folder to Jamie for diagnosis TO DO: Though not the source of this problem, the icons for “experiment” vs. “automatic experiment” are confusing; may be lessened when icons rearranged in new branch, but need clarification in documentation; Judy to put warnings on both pages in wiki 4. Bugs (B) and Feature Requests (FR) B 534480: EMO approvals for current and future STEM logos (See item 2) B 530858: “Randomize Seed” feature moved to branch; Jamie to Close Bug FR 530546: Avoiding misspellings in disease and population decorator; new, stem.ui-inbox FR 530549: Warning decorators not editable through the scenario in STEM; new, stem.ui-inbox 5.
