Dan, you made a few points in your recent comments.

There has never been a rule that this is the ONLY
way to suggest a topic for discussion. Committers are ALWAYS welcome to

You are free to initiate such a discussion on stem-dev
at any time.

It sometimes helps to offer multiple opportunities and means to support
communication. The call is just one such opportunity. Everyone is welcome
but no one is forced to join. Some people join only occasionally. As I
mentioned in the stem-dev note, the call is not only for committers, 
but also for new users who might want to meet the
team. We put the minutes of every call on stem-dev. Question Dan, do you
want to make a motion that we no longer have a call and put that to a committer
vote??

There is communications on STEM dev
between committers. It is true that some very new contributors sometimes
email the active committers directly with questions or issues. When
this happens we do two things. 
i) We respond as quickly as possible,
usually within a day. and ii) we remind them to please use stem-dev. 
Some people may be initially shy about
using a public mailing list. Over time, with additional committers coming
on board, I am confident people will adjust and begin to use it even more.

Since you are a project lead, do you
have any specific constructive suggestion you'd like to make? I'm a believer
in leading by example.  Why not make a post
to stem-dev about a technical effort you'd like to contribute to?

Werner,
The Global malaria model would indeed include India. We don't want to 
pre-announce research that isn't done yet and I'm not sure that can happen
by June but maybe we could have a scenario for you to demo at a demo camp.
Can you please let us know if/when you are sure you are going to the 
Bangalore demo camp?

Especially the Malaria Model sounds interesting. Does "Global"
also 
include India or other parts of Asia? As I would love to use that either
for Eclipse Day India in May or a soon to be expected Eclipse DemoCamp

I am all in favor of us making better use of stem-dev, and agree on it's
value - especially for people who are in other timezones.
Developers should absolutely use stem-dev for this purpose.

Regarding the call, it is already our practice that anyone can submit
agenda items to the call for discussion. These can certainly include
issues that require in depth discussion.

I do not want to restrict the call to only one topic per call. As Dan
points out, giving everyone an opportunity to speak does not take much
time.
The phone call is also intended as a vehicle for new users (not only
developers) to meet the team, describe their interests, and ask questions,
and make requests.

Yossi,
I like very much your suggestion on the building / releasing roadmap.
Right now the formal dates exist only in the metadata on the Eclipse
Website.
The leads are supposed to maintain this. To make it possible for others
to
have input

Hi team,

I've been looking at the SimulationControl, TimeProvider and STEMTime
classes and trying to figure out a way to display the timestamp in the
tooltip. Is this the right place to be looking?

I noticed SimulationControl class accesses STEMTime and displays it in
the
Simulation panel - would a similar approach of accessing STEMTime be
appropriate in the MapCanvas class, or is there an easier way to access
STEMTime?
