All, I would like to give everyone a brief update on progress in the Eclipse SDV Working Group. 

 

  • I have been elected as the inaugural chair of the Eclipse SDV WG Steering Committee. I work for Microsoft in the Azure Office of the CTO. I care a great deal about building healthy non-profit organizations through which partners can engage and collaborate. I look forward to serving and working with all of you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. 
  • Matt Spencer (Arm) is the new Participant Representative on the steering committee. While I look forward to working with all of the Eclipse SDV Working Group members, it is important for there to be representation on the steering committee itself. Welcome, Matt. 
  • The steering committee has met a few times, and its focus through the next few weeks is on our program plan and budget. We will be announcing a full working group meeting shortly to solicit input. I ask your patience as we all learn our new roles. 
  • The marketing subcommittee is forming around Heather Hussin (Red Hat) and we would all welcome participation here. Do please reach out if you have people interested in working on the marketing subcommittee. 
  • The search is underway for candidates to fill the community manager and marketing manager positions. These are permanent Eclipse Foundation staff working on our behalf in the Eclipse SDV Working Group (carrying out the work in the program plan against the budget). Do please promote these job postings to your networks and we welcome any referrals:
  • It remains the desire of the organization to support a ‘code first’ perspective, supporting Eclipse Foundation projects that the Eclipse SDV WG can further support and encourage. To that end, we continue to encourage project proposals. If you have questions, please send them to the mailing list or raise them on SDV new-projects Slack channel. We will also be announcing our first Automotive Project Day event shortly.
