I didn’t get an email about the vote, sorry about that. Happy to try again.

Hi all,
I've retired Erwin De Ley as a committer of the
Texlipse project on behalf of the Project Lead.
Let us know if there is anything else we can do to
help.
Kind regards,
Maria Teresa
Wayne, can you help with this?
Jay

Thanks,
I’ve tried to use the project tools to
retire Erwin, but I’m only getting «Something
went wrong while trying to retire Erwin De Ley
from the project science.texlipse. Please try
again. PR-01 [404]»
Best regards,
Torkild
Yes. If committers are no
longer active and are not able to
participate in committer elections,
they should be retired.
Project leads have the ability to
retire committers. There is some
advice in the handbook.
Wayne
Correct, but if one of those
committers retired
professionally and no longer
does development, would it not
be appropriate to also retire
them as a committer and redo the
vote?

Jay Jay Billings, Ph.D.
When there are
three committers or fewer on a
project, then all committers
need to vote to have a
successful committer election.
The
election process begins with
an existing Committer on the
same Project nominating the
Contributor. The Project’s
Committers will vote for a
period of no less than one
week. If there are at least
three (3) positive votes and
no negative votes within the
voting period, the
Contributor is recommended
to the Project’s PMC for
commit privileges. If there
are three (3) or fewer
Committers on the Project, a
unanimous positive vote of
all Committers is
substituted.
Wayne
I'm not sure what
votes were selected, but
there are only three
committers on the
project and I know two
of them voted.
If we have a problem
here with inactive
committers, I suggest we
retire the inactive
folks and run the vote
again. We have this
problem with a lot of
the science projects
actually.

Jay
Hello Torkild,
Unfortunately " election
failed to receive
the required number
of votes in the
alloted time",
but my offer to help
TeXlipse project
remains valid.

Thanks
again Alexander!
I have
nominated you as
committer on
Eclipse Texlipse.
I also need Erwin
and Greg to vote
in order for the
nomination to be
successful without
issue.

Torkild
You are
welcome!
This was a
test PR, there
are lot more
things to do
before
TeXlipse can
be turned to
maintenance
mode and
escape from
termination
review.
I created
issue about
pipeline in
the project
repository and
hope to
continue
discussion
there.

Torkild,
Awesome!
Thank you!

Thanks
Alexander and
Jay,
The PR
has been
merged. I have
to admit I
don’t spend
much time with
TeXclipse
these days.
After the
initial
(considerable)
effort to move
the project to
Eclipse and
get everything
up and
running, not
much has been
done.
However
it fairly
stable, and
does not
require much
work although
some issues
has been
reported.
Best
regards,
Torkild
I offered
a PR https://github.com/eclipse/texlipse/pull/108 that
fixes the
build.
Let's see if
the project is
alive enough
to consider
it.

AF

I can

restoring
RelEng for it,

Hello Science PMC,
Eclipse
TeXlipse has
promising
functionality
but looks
abandoned:
* last commit
* last release
in 2020
* no CI
instance
Any plans to
reanimate it?

AF
