That is interesting, Torkild.

At iSencia, we have an all Java partial DRMAA implementation for SLURM 
job submission, built for Soleil.
It's based on launching cmdline SLURM commands and parsing the outputs.
It certainly needs more work to be generally applicable I think.
For the moment it's used by Synchrotron Soleil on their SLURM-managed grid.

My goal would be to maintain that as a source project in Triquetrum 
(contrary to the previous 2 CQs that would be treated as 3rd-party deps) 
and to improve it.
So if you would have reusable Java code for submitting&monitoring SLURM 
jobs, that's indeed very interesting!
