Dear HiPEAC members 

We are currently preparing HiPEACinfo 70, and I am looking for contributions from the HiPEAC community. The theme of this issue will be mobility.

Please note that the article suggestions below are intended as a guide. If you'd like to submit something but don't see how it fits into any of these categories, or the theme of this issue, please get in touch

If you wish to contribute to issue 70 of the magazine, the process is as follows: 


1. Let me know what kind of article you'd like to submit as soon as possible by responding to this email
2. Submit your text and high-resolution photos by Friday, 4 August 2023 to communication@xxxxxxxxxxIf you are unable to meet this deadline but would like to contribute, please let me know. 

I am particularly looking for articles in the following categories, but please feel free to send any other suggestions:

News
Max. 300 words

  • Novel research
  • New start-ups, acquisitions, investments, products etc./other industry news involving HiPEAC members
  • Project launches
  • Previous events hosted by/involving HiPEAC members
  • Awards

Special feature: Powering mobility through compute
Max. 600 words

As modern vehicles become increasingly dependent on computing, multiple challenges and innovations arise. From in-vehicle network technologies to data collection and analysis in public transportation networks, modern transportation poses demands across the compute continuum. 

For this issue, we'd like to hear about your projects, papers, innovations and products related to computing for mobility. Are you helping create a rail system fit for the future in Europe? Is your research contributing to the European automotive industry, or to innovations in avionics? Perhaps you work on safety or real-time aspects which are fundamental for transportation systems? Whatever your focus, we would love to hear about it.

    Portrait of an innovative, successful SME working in advanced computing. If possible, it would be great if your company focused on issues related to the main topic of this issue, mobility. Please include the following information:

    Industry focus

    Max. 450 words

    Case study of technology project carried out in collaboration with business for a specific industrial purpose, ideally related to the main topic of mobility.

    Description of a research breakthrough or analysis of a technical issue/bottleneck and description of approach taken to resolve it. If this relates to the main theme of mobility (e.g. non-functional requirements such as safety or real-time computing), that would be ideal.

    What is the way forward for computing in European mobility? Where should key optimizations be made? Let us know your views.

    Three-minute thesis – NB please note that we only publish one per issue


    Max. 400 words. Engaging description of PhD thesis. Please include the following information:

    ·  Name, research centre, supervisor(s), thesis title.

    ·  The context: background to your research and why your PhD thesis was necessary.

    ·  Challenges which made your research more difficult.

    ·  Originality: why is your research unique?

    ·  Analogies: try and connect your research to real-world examples.

    ·  Application: how will your research contribute to the field?
