[ptp-user] Setting environment variables is cumbersome

I've noticed that setting environment variables for C++/Fortran projects requires a lot of clicks, e.g., to get to the project properties, etc.  This is a basic usability issue that may keep someone on the command line instead of using Eclipse.  Would it be possible to shortcut to the environment variables for a project?  A short term solution may be to add a button to the toolbar.  In the long term, maybe the design could be rethought a bit to streamline handling of environment variables, especially in the face of multiple build configurations.  Maybe a streamlined build config view that could be docked right on the main workbench page and not hidden so deeply in properties?
