thanks for the general hint. Actually, I applied Google to my original problem, and ended up in the forum you mentioned. Given the answers for similar problems in this forum, it seems that many of the bogus C/C++ errors reported by Codan are solved (or worked around) by adding an include path - as described in my previous post.
Should I add something to the Q&A (which Q&A, there seem to be several ?) - along the following lines ?
Recipe for dealing with Codan problems -
1. Check whether adding an include path solves your problem.
2. Check whether defining a CPP variable solves your problem.
3. Post in the CDT forum.
This is of course only a short sketch - the real entry should be made with Eclipse newbies in mind and should explain the term "Codan".
