I thought I posted that already, but perhaps I forgot. The GA version of iuno fixed this problem. Monitoring now works on SuperMUC. It takes a while to update the status, but I think this is no surprise - given the large number of nodes.
It even works when islands are drained from or included into LoadLeveler - the picture (=number of rectangles) changes accordingly.
Am I correct that the monitoring perspective doesn't know anything about islands ?
