Re: [ptp-dev] PTP builds for 4.0.6 (Helios) and 5.0.0 (Indigo) - local testing OK!

Summary: successful test on Mac OSX for 4.0.6 and 5.0.0

Helios/PTP 4.0.6 test:
I installed helios cpp-package SR1 on Mac OSX Snow Leopard
installed ptp-master-4.0.6 ptp-master-4.0.6-I201101281904.zip All of PTP and RDT (Did not select Photran)
Photran was installed anyway and i got the welcome to Photran screen. (I think something has a dependency on Photran, maybe it's me in PLDT)
Installed ok. Basic PLDT works. Built. built proxy. pointed to sdm. Can Run and debug.

Indigo/PTP 5.0.0
I Installed indigo SDK M4 on Mac OSX Snow Leopard eclipse.buildId=I20101208-1300
installed ptp-master-5.0.0-I201101281707.zip All of PTP and RDT (Did not select Photran - got it anyway, same as above)
Installed OK. Basic PLDT works. Built proxy. Created ResMgr for OpenMPI. Local job (from hello MPI wizard project) Ran ok.
Debug launch fails with:
org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException: Time out for this request.
at org.eclipse.ptp.debug.internal.core.PSession.connectToDebugger(PSession.java:134)
at org.eclipse.ptp.launch.ParallelLaunchConfigurationDelegate$1$1.run(ParallelLaunchConfigurationDelegate.java:216)
at org.eclipse.jface.operation.ModalContext$ModalContextThread.run(ModalContext.java:121)
*BUT* I had forgotten to point debug configuration to the newly built sdm. When I did that, can do basic debug operations (stepp and run) just fine.
(Note that since we don't test/require this for run-only configs, and I had an old sdm in home dir, it didn't complain)
Pointed to SDM and was able to debug ok.

Did not do any remote testing yet.

[ptp-dev] PTP builds for 4.0.6 (Helios) and 5.0.0 (Indigo) - please test the builds prior to Helios SR2 RC2 and Indigo M5

Friday's builds look good for both Helios and Indigo.

Helios build for PTP 4.0.6 is at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/PTP/builds/4.0.6
-- Note that Helios SR2 (Service Release 2) RC2+3 is this coming Wednesday Feb 2 - so PLEASE TEST and unless there are bug fixes or a build requested, Friday's build may be our RC2 for SR2 on Wednesday.
Helios schedule is at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Helios_Simultaneous_Release#Service_Releases if you are intersted.

Indigo build for PTP 5.0.0 is at
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ptp/builds/indigo/index.html
But the files are at the now automatically generated page at
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ptp/builds/indigo/index.html
-- Note that Indigo M5+2 is this coming Tuesday Feb 1 -- so again PLEASE TEST but this isn't as dire as the Helios candidate above.
Stay tuned as to whether Friday's build will be our M5 or not. I know a lot of changes went in Friday and I have seen lots more since then so I'd guess we'll try another build.
-- Note that we'll have a p2 repository (update site) as well as a complete all-in-one download package to test for Indigo, so please plan to test!!

PLEASE TEST and report what you see here on ptp-dev. Thanks!
