Yes, exactly. We are doing that for OpenMPI and IBM PE/LL now (run Eclipse on local machine, Windows or Mac or Linux, and use remote communications to monitor and control backend of Linux, AIX, etc.

Beth,
Thanks ,I got it. We are considering that some users will install eclipse
and ptp in windows platform locally, and use the resource manager (like
SLURM) on the remote platform (LINUX) through remote communication. From
your reply, I can safely come to an conclusion that this manner is feasible.
