Re: [ptp-dev] Building PTP 2.0 from the PTP_2_0 branch in CVS

I've opened a bug on anonymous users not being able to see versions. When that is fixed I'll move the project sets to the 2.0 branch.

I have modified the wiki entry at http://wiki.eclipse.org/PTP/environment_setup_20#Checkout_PTP_Plugins

It turns out that the project set files (ptp-*.psf) aren't checked into the PTP_2_0 branch itself so I modified the instructions for one method to use them directly from the links in that wiki article.
However, this checks them out, as anonymous, *but* gets them from head.
Anybody know how to change the project sets files to use a branch?
In any case, you ought to be able to look in the project set files and see which projects to check out manually from the PTP_2_0 branch.
Sorry this seems so complicated.

Note that in step 4 below (from http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/CVS_FAQ#Browsing_the_Repository)...
To make these tags appear, do the following:
1.Open the CVS Repositories view.
2.Expand HEAD and select the project for which you want to configure tags.
3.Context Menu->Configure Branches and Versions...
4.In the "Browse files for tags" table, select one or more files that
contain tags you would like to see.
5.Click "Add Selected Tags".
In Eclipse 3.4, check the tags you want, and click "Add Checked Tags."
6.Click "OK".

In step 4, I usually go *find* a file that has the tag I want.
For example, descend into org.eclipse.ptp.core project, MANIFEST/MANIFEST.MF
and click on that file - you will see all the branches on that file (which is all of them I'm pretty sure).
Don't select *all* the file, just select one, find the branch, and select it and add it.

This *does* work with anonymous access, too.

The PTP_2_0 branch can't be found. Still use HEAD branch for ptp 2.0.*?
