Re: [ptp-dev] Problem installing CDT 5.0.1 build with PTP M3 build.

Beth
I had an older version of CDT 5.0.1 installed along with PTP. After I installed the PTP M3 build I tried RDT and got an undefined method exception. I rememered an email from Chris saying that the latest 5.0.1 was needed, so I downloaded and installed that over what I had already. That's when I had the problem I noted.

I can't remember exactly since I've installed PTP 2.0 and 2.1 on two different systems a few times, but I thought that the PTP zip files installed CDT 5.0.0, not 5.0.1

Dave,
How (why?) are you installing CDT 5.0.1 *after* PTP?
CDT is a pre-req to PTP, so if you don't install it explicitly, i think it will go try to install cdt from the download sites (not exactly sure).
If you install CDT before, or at the same time as, PTP, this should not be a problem.
But that's still strange.

[ptp-dev] Problem installing CDT 5.0.1 build with PTP M3 build.

I had a problem installing the CDT 5.0.1 9/12 build on my Windows XP system after installing PTP 2.1. I had this problem with the M2 build and still had it with the M3 build, but this time I saved the error logs.

I initially installed all of PTP 2.1 except the TAU Enabler plugins, restarted Eclipse, then tried to install all of CDT except the two uncategorized plugins (source code)

When the CDT install was checking dependencies, I got a popup warning me of a problem with dependency checking and the following two messages which also show up in my error log
Problems resolving provisioning plan

No solution found because the problem in F:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\p2Encoding52070.opb is unsatisfiable.

I have no idea what a *.opb file is. I tried looking for it in my Documents and Settings directory but was unable to find it

I ended up uninstalling the PLDT amd PLDT LAPI plugins and the problem went away.

Anyone seen anything like this?

Dave
