Subject: [ptp-dev] PTP debugger framework for use by Cell Debugger
This morning I talked with Amir Sanjar in IBM Austin, tech lead for the
Cell IDE project on the IBM Open Source site.
They are developing Eclipse plug-ins for Cell programming, based on CDT.
They are working on a debugging architecture also, and should probably
compare notes with our PTP debugger architecture.
Greg/Nathan, can you fill him in on the current arch. and plans for the
upcoming release?
Amir, please subscribe to this mailing list - you can do so here:

cell Debugger frame work.
Current cell SDK 2.0 debugger plan:
Integrate combined (PPE and SPE) gdb server and client, under development
by cell GNU toolchain team, into eclipse+cdt platform, under development by
cell IDE team.
That would require changes to Eclipse and gdb client GDB/MI events to
notify/query of platform changes (i.e PPE to SPE) .
Future plan:
Create a generic multi-platform gdb client manager to incorporate other
platform dependent gdbs. User interaction to gdbcleint would be manage
through gdb client manager.
Best Regards
