Re: [polarsys-pmc] Copyright header updates for Thales Global Services

FWIW, it is the position of the Eclipse Foundation that only the year of the date of the first contribution of the content is required in the copyright header. If a project team or contributor wants to include a "most recent edit" date, they are welcome to do so.

There's more here:

Hi PMC,

This mail is about Capella project only.

Right now, last modification year of copyright headers on Capella files are updated per commit. (each day, every modified files are updated)

As long as copyright headers are updated at the date of the release of a major version, Thales Global Services IP has agreed that there was no issue to delay updates of Thales Global Services copyright headers, avoiding costly modification per commit/day.

In 2016, there was topics on Eclipse projects and it has been agreed to let project decide whether copyright headers shall be updated or not in a more global way.

(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=485257 et https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse/PMC/Minutes_2016, 24 may).

This is not the goal of this mail, in the case of Thales Global Services copyright headers, we will just delay the update but keep them updated at release dates.

Do you also agree with that? (+1/-1)

Best regards,

Philippe
