Hi Dirk,
the pom updates are currently worked via
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=496465.
We have not (yet) enforced the usage of Gerrit for all committers.
IIRC this was suggested several times in the past but rejected. The
general idea was that we did not want to enforce a policy on our
committers.
