Re: [platform-swt-dev] JavaDoc for SWT by itself?
|
Hi Carolyn,
I too wish there was a standalong SWT-only Javadoc. There were many times where I needed an SWT-only Javadoc and I cursed this all-in-one documentation.
A few examples:
- I helped someone to learn SWT, he could not (and still cannot) find his way in this universe tree.
- I use a Firefox extension that allows me to filter Javadocs, unusable in this huge universe.
- I need to check something in a given SWT class, it is faster for me to navigate the SWT sources than finding anything there due to noise and necessary clicks.
If anything can be done (especially a direct link to such Javadoc from the main SWT page), that would be great.
Cheers,
-Christopher

Hi, Misha.
I assume that you know that the SWT
javadoc is available online here:
http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/api/overview-summary.html
Yes, it is part of the Eclipse javadoc,
and you do need to scroll down until you see the set of org.eclipse.swt.*
packages, however you don't need to download or run Eclipse to do this.
Carolyn
If there is any web site with step by step instructions
would be very helpful!
I am sure others would find helpful as well.
Thank you :)
