Thread-topic: JSR for SWT?

Has there been any serious thought about contributing SWT as a JSR proposal? I've encountered some resistance to using SWT because it's not covered by a JSR so I was thinking that might help it gain more acceptance and respectability in certain circles. I found one message suggesting this last year on the web site but nothing seemed to come from it.
