[platform-swt-dev] RE: platform-swt-dev digest, Vol 1 #339 - 6 msgs
|
Mmmm. I hope this is nothing more than IBM/OTI waiting until there's a
clearer understanding of when the MacOS X release is likely to
get 'production quality' before adding it to official lists. However, a
clear (re)statement on the intentions would be nice.
I too use Eclipse on OS X on a daily basis (though I have to confess that
not having a 1.4.x at the moment is causing me to spend more time on other
platforms). Knowing that OS X continues to be a serious target in people's
minds is important. It would be good to know if there _are_ any impediments
to getting OS X support '1st class' as soon as possible.

Subject: [platform-swt-dev] Mac OS X pot not part of (future) Eclipse 2.1 ?
Reply-To: platform-swt-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx
Hello,
I just read the draft plan for Eclipse 2.1 targeted for the end of this =20=
calendar year (doc available at =20
http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/=20
eclipse_project_plan_2_1.html) and I discovered that Mac OS X port is =20=
not part of the target platforms.
Is a decision driven by political or technical factors ?
On the technical side, I am using Eclipse 2.0 on OS X on a daily basis =20=
without any major problem... and many other people on the list surely =20=
agree with this
Does anybody at OTI has more info on this ?
Thanks
