Re: [platform-swt-dev] OSX SWT Options vote
|
I would prefer a Cocoa port because of the great difference in the
on-screen appearence of text, which is an important part of Eclipse. Also,
since Swing apps get the Cocoa look and feel automatically, all of the
existing IDE's that Eclipse must compete with, such as JBuilder, NetBeans
and jEdit all have this nice look to them.
That being said, I think it is most important that the port be created at
all and it sounds like Carbon might offer the easiest and fastest path to
getting that accomplished. Also, we are more likely to find a technical
lead with Carbon experience than we are with Cocoa.
So I vote for Carbon.

Hi,
In order to move expiditiously with the Aqua SWT port I would like to
propose that we take a poll on where all of us stand with respect to how
we aught to proceed. If I can summarize, we have two ways to move forward
1. CarbonSWT +1
2. CocoaSWT
Could all of us with an interest in see eclipse on OS X make your
preferences known.
Cheers
and have a good one.
