[platform-releng-dev] Git fetch failing in Gerrits and other CI runs

Hello folks,

In my recent submissions of a bunch of SWT gerrits I noticed that many of them failed due to git operation errors. The Eclipse CDT project has been suffering such problems intermittently too for a while.

I believe I have tracked down the problem and you can read all about it if you are interested in Bug 560283 Comment 16.
