Re: [platform-releng-dev] Rebuild tentatively scheduled for 3:30 AM (Eastern)
|
The SWT fix for https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=435799 has
been reviewed and approved by the PMC and it is committed now. No further
changes needed in build schedule.
Thanks,
Arun

Because of a reboot of build.eclipse.org scheduled for 16:00 I've
re-scheduled the build to 16:30 EDT. If this needs to be changed please
let me know

After IMing with Arun, sounds like 3:30 might be more realistic.
And, if fix not committed by then a) another release engineer can change
crontab of e4Build if you know how ... it's the only active job in "SDK
Section" ... or b) in the worst case (not committed by 3:30, and cron job
starts anyway) I will at least be able to cancel it around 4:30 or 5:00
(when I'm back near a computer) and re-start it (if/when ready).

I've tentatively scheduled a rebuild to start at 3 PM Eastern, as it
appears there's fixes for both approaches, pending review/approval -- AND
the fact that I'll be offline shortly after that time for a few hours.
If anyone knows now of a better "tentative time" let me know ... or, if
you think it'll be as late as 5 or 6 or 7 ... I'll just leave unscheduled
until I "get the word".

SWT is currently investigating a severe issue related to getting the
active shell under GTK+ 3. This affects any code that needs the active
shell while a context menu is open and will result in malfunction or
NPEs. In the SDK the biggest know fall-out is 'Show In' no longer
working. If SWT can't provide a fix within the next hours we will apply a
fix for the 'Show In' problem and proceed with RC4.
This is also the request for a rebuild once the fix is in.

While the Unit tests won't be done for a while, I have created the
sign-off bug for RC4 -- our final delivery for Luna, unless blocking
issues found.
