[platform-releng-dev] Building Eclipse from CVS/Sourcebuilds

Hi!
I am a researcher working at Saarland University in Germany. We do a
lot of stuff with Eclipse and also publish our results as Eclipse
Plugins whenever possible. For our most recent project I need to be
able to build specific snapshots of Eclipse. I first tried to build
directly from the CVS checkout, but soon figured that this is
hopeless. Can you give me any hints about how I could achieve this?
- I tried to create a source drop using the
org.eclipse.releng.eclipsebuilder project and the short description in
the releng FAQ, but failed. Can you provide me with a log of what you
execute (especially the parameters for the Ant scripts would be
interesting) in order to create a source drop?
- Do you have any other suggestion how I could build specific
snapshots of Eclipse? I need to be able to build the version before
and after a specific commit.
The aim of our project is to combine dynamic program analysis and the
bug history of a project to help the Eclipse team in fixing new bugs.
I would be very happy about any advice you can give me!
