We managed to resolve the situation by re-committing the lost files back to
the server.
Thanks to Michael Valenta for his help.
The PDE plug-ins are now back and they are in a good state for the nightly
build.
We will not re-version for the next I-build.

Due to the outage and kernel crash that the webmaster referred to in his
note to the committers mailing list,
many of the changes that we checked in last night were not successfully
committed.
So the org.eclipse.pde.core and org.eclipse.pde.ui plug-ins in HEAD and in
the version that was tagged for the I-build are in a broken state.
While we try to pick ourselves up and see what we are going to do, I have
reverted the pde.map file to last week's version so that the I-build can
proceed.

Could the pde team please let me know when they are ready for a rebuild to
address the compile errors.
