My bad. I've backed out of both new constructors (there was a new 3-arg one as well). They don't provide significant value, so I've removed them. A second two-arg constructor was added which made a call using null as the second argument ambiguous. I will submit a fix to HEAD but the UI team should be aware that they have made a breaking change since the constructor in question was specified to accept null for either argument.
